Akbar Khan - MD
Dr Akbar Khan is an MD Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a native New Yorker and has been tied to the greater New York area all of his life, including being a graduate of New York University. He has been in practice for over 20 years in various capacities: as a primary care doctor, hospitalist, pharmaceutical clinical trials medical director and researcher, and as an emergency physician. He is clinically astute, has a very broad knowledge and experience base, and provides compassionate care for his patients. He is able to see all types of medical conditions, urgent care, and adolescent care. He has a special interest in rheumatology, musculoskeletal medicine, as well as psychiatry. He is excited to help lead Primary Care of Long Island going into the future, taking the reigns from Dr Priti Patel as medical director.

Jaclyn Teresco - Physician Assistant
Jaclyn Teresco is a highly dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for patient education and empowerment. Graduating from Touro College with a dual Bachelors and Masters Degree in Physician Assistant studies, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our primary care practice. With over 10 years of clinical experience in both primary and urgent care, many of them with our practice, she is well versed in managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, performing routine check-ups, diagnosing illnesses and providing appropriate treatments. Her empathetic and individualized approach allows her to build strong relationships with her patients, fostering an environment of trust and open communication. She will continue to foster a culture of education, compassion and excellence in patient care. She looks forward to working collaboratively with our patients to help them succeed in their health care goals.

Claudia Salazar - Physician Assistant
Claudia Salazar has been practicing for many years, in last few with our practice. She serves the greater Brentwood NY area and has been a fixture there, with occasional coverage in Lindenhurst NY. She enjoys sharing her love for healthy living with her patients to inspire them to reach their health goals. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York, Stony Brook and earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Touro College and University System, Bayshore. She also holds certification from Sanford-Brown. She believes in providing patients with all the information they need to make educated decisions about their health care. She holds herself to the highest standard of care and is dedicated to creating a positive patient experience for every individual.

Andrea Sinka has been serving the Long Island Community for over 20 years, and with our practice for 3 years. Prior to joining our practice, she served the Huntington-Northport community for over 10 years. She is a graduate of St Johns University and Touro College Physician Assistant Program. She has been providing excellent and compassionate care to her patients and their families for urgent, acute, and chronic medical conditions. She is available in both the Lindenhurst and Brentwood offices and she looks forward to serving you and your family in all your health care needs.

Vanessa Victoria - Physician Assistant
Vanessa Victoria is a New Jersey native who completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Saint Peter’s College and a Master’s of Science from Seton Hall University’s prestigious Physician Assistant program in 2010. As a Latina/Colombian who grew up in a predominantly Latino community, Vanessa was inspired to provide care to underserved populations. Vanessa has been practicing for over 12 years. She has been serving her community in Queens, New York at an outpatient internal medicine clinic prior to joining us. She is proficient in treating patients with both acute and chronic conditions, ranging from common ailments like cough, UTIs, and back pain to more complex conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Vanessa prides herself on her strong communication skills, empathy, and excellent bedside manner. Overall, Vanessa’s educational background, clinical experience, language skills, and commitment to serving underserved communities make her an excellent addition to the Primary Care of Long Island practice.
